Isn't it super weird that Ken Holland, the current GM and PoHO of the Oilers, has his contract with the team expiring in just 4 days and nobody has said anything about who is taking over his job. There's some pretty important things coming up for a hockey team...

Like presumably Jeff Jackson just handles things but I'm surprised they didn't have a plan in place already announced.

It is "super weird". I can't recall anything quite like it.
Guy gets them to within a goal of the Cup and he's out the door with nobody saying "wait a minute ..."
They have offered him another position with the team ...

They might be upset by the Darnell Nurse & Jack Campbell contracts ...
Things happen for a reason.
 
I read Holland was retiring when the Oilers called and persuaded him to help them.
He put in his five years and Holland decided some time ago with the team that this was it.
The Oilers couldn't say anything or begin their search until the Cup was settled as they didn't want any distractions.

There were rumours before of Bowman ending up in Edmonton. Those seem to be growing stronger today. Him leading the team with the face of the NHL on it would be a hell of a thing for the league.

Well I?m assuming where LK is going with this is that the NHL is hoping no one notices as free agent frenzy is going on.

Honestly I don?t go to twitter at all. I refuse to. So I don?t get info as fast as most people. I come here and rely on you folks to share the info.

 
The league continues to be a joke.  He's not even a good GM.  But covering up sex assault that directly led to him assaulting minors should have been a permanent ban...if not from the league, then from principled blacklisting by organizations
 
The Oilers had such a good offseason too that Bowman might not even need to make a single transaction and Edmonton could still very well win the Cup with him "in charge" this season. God that would absolutely suck so here's hoping karma is very real.
