I think that might be closer to the truth than we think. A lot of people have assumed that a bridge deal would just automatically come with a deep discount but I'm not so sure that's the case.

There?s good reason bridged deals come with that deep discount.
Guilt Trip said:As for anyone signing a bridge deal. Kucherov signed his bridge deal after 65 and 66 point seasons before the 2016-17 season.

Nik the Trik said:...Unless I'm mistaken it's been some time since a player like Nylander has signed a short term deal and in that time I think we've seen a general shift in how second contracts work. I think that might end up holding true for bridge deals as well.
So 8m per, I agree, seems unlikely. But 6.5 or 6.75 per wouldn't shock me.

I said that "might" be "closer to the truth than we might think". Not "Yes, that is certainly what a shorter term contract will come in at".
I agree it's unlikely that Nylander comes in at 8 million on a bridge deal but, again, I think that might be closer to the number than people think. Unless I'm mistaken it's been some time since a player like Nylander has signed a short term deal and in that time I think we've seen a general shift in how second contracts work. I think that might end up holding true for bridge deals as well.

Is William Nylander undervalued?
Yes.
Is he worth 8M? Haha yes.
