Thanks guys, miss you all. Baby #2 severely restricted my browsing time, hope you are all well.

Yeah man I got pretty excited when I saw your name pop up in the new posts. Wish it was under better circumstances.

Anyone got numbers on how many covid cases are a result of restaurants being open? I don't recall.

I don't think anywhere in the world has specific numbers about who caught it where. I'm not even sure how you'd state that with certainty.

This was from Toronto's Medical Officer of Health in early October:

Between September 20 and 26, there were 45 active community outbreaks. Of these outbreaks, about 18 (44%) were in restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.

Socializing in bars and restaurants is contributing to significant exposures and outbreaks (e.g. Yonge Street Warehouse created 1,700 exposures, Regulars Bar created 600 exposures).

Should note these are for outbreaks, not individual cases.

When you're having trouble doing any kind of contact tracing and more than half have no epidemiological link....

Considering all the good BBQ joints in the city and the nonsense that has routinely come from Adamson since the pandemic started it's pretty easy for me to say I'll never be going there again.

As an aside: They basically slop meat into a plate with pre made sides. This is not a restaurant that needs dine in. You queue in a line, they slop your food and you leave. That's also how it was pre-pandemic. You CAN sit in but this isn't a fine dining restaurant that needs dine in service. Half the people who came in normally weren't there for dine in. It's also not like they make their money off alcohol sales. Plus you need to drive to get there. There is no reason that without some gov't support (which I'm sure they know about) that it won't be too bad for them vs. others that require sit down service/higher end dining where you pay for the atmosphere and alcohol sales to get them through.

Randy Hillier being a complete moron is one thing Cons and Libs can agree on at least.

That should be grounds for removal from the legislature. He's actively and proudly putting lives in danger.

He also said he's attending an anti-lockdown rally tomorrow at Queen's Park.

Feels like this whole "We can't manufacture our own vaccines" thing might want to be looked at. Pretty unfortunate that the privatization of something that feels pretty important is almost certainly going to lead to the deaths of many Canadians.
