Call me a cynic but I have a hunch most people there have gotten the vaccine.

Here's how it could be done instead

We had a worker in the garage test positive. He was off work for 7 days and allowed to return. We had a woman in the office with a cough who tested negative, who had to take 14 days off work.

At the very least, I imagine we'd have more consistent and less confusing/contradictory messaging and restrictions, and we definitely would not be sitting on piles of unspent emergency funds. I'd be concerned an NDP government would swing too far the other way in terms of spending, and deplete the emergency fund too quickly, but, overall, I think the response would be better. Ford said and did a lot of the right things at the beginning of the pandemic, but he couldn't keep up that momentum and has reverted to his true self. He still says a number of the right things - for instance, he hasn't been shy about calling out people who are recklessly disregarding health and safety measures - but some of his actions/priorities/policies have betrayed him/contributed to the disregard/confusion around those measures.

Like, I'm not sure there really is a lot of value in calling people who go to the Dominican Republic stupid if you're not enforcing some sort of travel ban or post travel quarantine.

Pretty sure that's a question for your JHSC or HR dept as to what the iso period is supposed to be (didn't they send out a Covid policy?).

Agreed. It's only part of the equation, and it's definitely a smaller part. It's just something his defenders will point to, and, quite frankly, it's the only part of managing the pandemic he's managed to be somewhat consistent about. It's nowhere near enough, obviously - and, in fact, it really just exposes his hypocrisy. If can recognize these behaviours are foolish, why can't he enact or enforce measures to prevent them?
