tsn.ca has reported that the Leafs may have/be kicking the tires of Franson.

If it were true, big if, how does this make any sense?

Another one year deal?

Have to assume his time with Nashville hurt his value quite a bit.
 
I was a bigger Franson fan here than most. If it was on favourable terms I wouldn't be completely opposed to looking at him again. Preferably that would mean Phaneuf/Kessel are gone for sure though. I would hate to occidentally have a good season next year.
 
Is it possible the Leafs could sign Franson to another string of one year deals, and trade him at the deadline for a first or second every year?  That would be awesome!  :D
 
He led Leafs D-men in points for each of the last 3 season and the playoff series.  I've been worried that offence from the back end could really dry up if he goes and guys like Reilly are still finding their game.  I'd also be interested to see how he does under new coaching. 

On the other hand we're rebuilding anyway and he isn't really going to line up with that unless the term is too long.  Might be worth considering IF they can move Phaneuf and the price is right though.
