Eakins to Edmonton confirmed

I've got news for you guys... you aren't going to agree with 100% of the decisions the coach makes.. any coach.. ever.

I will if the coach wins the Cup with the Leafs.

That's not news. I don't expect to agree with 100% of anyone's decisions. And i agree that RC's coaching looked good in the playoffs too. But the last period collapse had a lot to do with his coaching.

Which can equally be said of Eakins and the Marlies collapse against a much less talented team.

How were they a much less talented team?

I guess I wasn't clear.

Carlyle was coaching a bubble (according to analysts) Leafs team against a team that won a cup a couple of years ago, and is poised to do so again this year.

Eakins was coaching a Calder finalist roster from 2011 with a few ex-NHLers (Komi, Connolly) against a good grand rapids squad (I'd call them "well coached" more than anything).

Most of their players didn't score at a very pretty clip: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0026752013.html

Holding a 2 goal lead against Grand Rapids should be an easier task than holding a 3 goal lead against the Boston Bruins IMO.

Anyway the point stands, Eakins team choked in as bad a way as Carlyle's.
