Flames @ Leafs - Dec. 9th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

I've never liked Kadri much. All flash and not much substance. He is a high risk taker and a little bit immature. Clearly he enjoys the offensive side of the game.

Until this season! His point totals seem a little bit down. He appears to be in the right defensive positions without the puck and works to create turnovers. He finishes his checks more often and more completely.  And he's still creative on the offensive side of the ice. I hope he can improve his face offs as I am beginning to like him.

Kadri is driving play today. His faceoff percentage is climbing. His line rarely dumps the puck.

He's on pace for 48.5 points right now.  Certainly not progress on the offensive side of his game, but with the improvements in his defensive game, it's really hard to complain all that much.  He's playing 2nd line minutes and scoring like a 2nd line center.  That's pretty much 30-40th ranked scoring pace for centers in the NHL.

Reading between Nonis' lines, Franson's gone.
please expand I am in Calgary so on their broadcast but a Leaf fan

Duthie suggested that Franson needed to be signed because of his good play of late and Nonis made a point of saying that they think they can do deals at the end of the season (referencing Bozak).  Again, just inferring here but I didn't sense a lot of enthusiasm from Nonis for paying Franson big.
