It's so tough watching this stretch.  The Leafs wouldn't be on an extended winning streak but I think they are closer to one of those than this losing stretch.

Praise be to Campbell?

John Tavares kicks open the door and storms into the dressing room.  He glares into the eyes of every Maple Leaf player.  A moment of understanding passes between him and the individual.  There are to be no passengers.

He sits down in his stall.  In his robot growly voice he declares "Tonight we win".

(This pregame ritual it provided with descriptive video)

I guess that mostly just looks weirder because of how it's ordered. The Kerfoot line is probably L4 giving Thornton a break in minutes on a B2B, which makes sense. That's a notable demotion for Kerfoot though.

I think this is a less a demotion and more like best alternative: fast, puck carrying, pass-first centre complements the slower elders, and Spezza now has two feeders.

I read them as
1a / 1b / 3b / 3a

These are... interesting.

I don't mind them. I would swap Simmonds maybe with Kerfoot on the 4th line maybe with Spezza centering it and move the Hyman line to Line 3.

[Kerfoot whizzing around all 3 zones]
[Vintage & Jumbo at center ice, sipping herbal tea]: "That young fellow is certainly energetic, don't you think, Jason?"  "My heavens, Joe, he is indeed.  Pass the sugar cubes, won't you?"
