No, it won't.  But it's the only thing they can can a significant change on this season.  We have no prospects to trade or at least shouldn't trading the few we have to prop up this team. 
 
What even is this team.

We aren't fast.  We don't control the puck. We aren't physical.

We have a couple of the best players in the league but have absolutely no identity

You've pretty much answered your own question. They are slow, non-physical and careless with the puck. Throw in a heaping dose of lack of urgency. What else...they are playing like they want a coaching change.
 
I hate this team.  They have quit.  If the GM doesn't fire the coach tonight this team is going to spiral
