Game 1: Leafs @ Bruins - Apr. 11th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

In truth, (perhaps I'm hoping), I don't think the Leafs are intimidated by the Bruins like a lot of fans are. Tavaras's, Marner's, and Matthews's self-confidence must be through the roof. I think the Leafs are going to win the series and I think Matthews is going to be the reason.

I think the 2013 still effect fans perception of the Bruins, but for the team its about as relevant as the 1972 Bruins beating the Leafs.

I promised myself to stay zen tonight, no emotional outbursts regardless what happens in the game.

Caller on 590 this morning predicting Boston wins the series because of their young defense.  The young defensemen he cites:  Krejci, Debrusk and McAvoy.

That's the fine analysis we get from sports radio callers.

Did the host at least tell the caller than 2 of those players aren't D and one of those non D isn't young?
The call was with Jeff Blair.  After Blair corrected him that Krejci is not young (but not mentioning that Krejci is a forward), the guy corrected himself to say that he meant Torey Krug.  Krug turns 28 tomorrow.

So, basically, only one of the three "young defensemen" that are going to be the difference in the series is actually a young defenseman, and only two are even defensemen at all.

CBC Hi-Res stream. I'm assuming 7:08pm puck-drop.

I wish I could say the same, but I'd be lying. Especially if they hold the lead late in the third.

Three things i'm worried about for this game:
1) getting through the first shift unscathed
2) Gardiners health... if the game vs Mtl was any indication, he is still having significant back issues
3) Gauthier being pinned in his end and Bruins quickly throwing the Bergeron line out there

Other than that, I'm optimistic for tonight!
