Game 22 - Leafs @ Bolts - Nov 22nd, 2011 - 19:30 EST

Gus flirts with respectability as his save% climbs to .899. 6W-4L in 9 starts/11GP.

I would have liked a better look at the goal he allowed because it seemed to take a funny -maybe unlucky bounce up and over.

Thought he played quite well again.

Indeed he did. I didn't see too many rebounds and his positioning was much better. His confidence is on the rise, that much is showing.

On the replay I saw it hit his stick, bounced off his pad, then hit the post and went in.

I'm hoping that Boucher enlightens as to why they couldn't score more than one goal tonight...you know..since they've seen allaire goalies before and know how to beat them.....

Leafs win% climbs back to respectable .591 (16th)

GFA 3.09 (5th)
PP 22.6% (3rd)

GAA 3.14 (24th up from 28th-29th recently)
PK 76.7% (27th up from 30th recently)

They're surprising me offensively at this stage of the season and the D seems to be making progress of late (no where to go but up?).

Thanks Wayne.  :)

It hit his pad, bounced up and into the net.  Somewhat unlucky, but he seemed slow at getting his leg out on the play as he read the pass well.  His rebound control has been much better and even playing the puck the last two outings he has been far less inclined to make stupid plays.

All the talk of potential headlines tonight and nobody comes up with the obvious/great one on TSN: "Thunderstruck"

But they're the Lightning, not the Thunder. And our team is the Leafs. That doesn't even make sense.

That's probably because the Lightning didn't, you know, strike.

Isn't a thunder strike a lightning strike?

Well, thunder is the sound produced by lightning. But either way, it's not like the Lightning struck much.

What's been promising about these games against washington and TB is that it was 6 different scorers tonight and 7 on Saturday.

It hasn't just been Kessel and Lupul.

Jake Gardiner is leading NHL rookie scoring for dmen with 7 points. He's tied for 11th overall in rookie scoring. He's tied for 54th overall in dmen scoring.

Nugent-Hopkins and Enroth would likely be ahead of him in Calder voting right now but he might be the 3rd-5th best rookie at the 1/4 pole.
