Game 23 - Maple Leafs @ Stars 08:30pm

Very nice to get the two points, but hopefully they weren't too dearly bought. Here's hoping Steckel and Gunnar are back quickly (and VERY glad Lupul wasn't seriously hurt).

Lupul!!! Sweet karma baby!  He had me scared there he was freaking out a bit when he got high sticked.  Really happy he ended it :)

Kessel looked off tonight.  Kulemin played well but can't buy one to save his life.  Connolly is great, awesome hands.  Gus played well, I still don't know where that 3rd goal went in from?

All in all a pretty good road game.  They took the play to us a couple times but we bounced back... That Benn looks outstanding for them.  Reminds me of Rick Nash with his size, skill and ability.

4 games in a row goaltending wasn't a concern.  That's always nice.  *hope I didn't jinx it for Sunday!

Agreed I'm more worried about Gunnarson and Steckel than im happy for the two points. :-/

It's good to see Gus finally starting to get a hold of his nerves a bit and the guys rallying around him.  He's starting to figure out that he can let in a few goals and still win.

He's finally accepted the fact that it's not the end of the world to get scored on.  He's learned to shake it off and give his team a chance to stay in the game.  Chances are they'll play harder for it.

Seems like they're bonding as a team.

That was a very stressful game.  Overall, I felt the kessel line was dominated by Dallas at even strength.  Our other lines played well enough, and together with special teams (what a shocker!) got us to the shootout.

I do like Connolly (and I was pulling for him in the offseason too!). Here's hoping he stays healthy for a while. Knock on wood.

Did anyone see the Gunnar injury? I didn't notice he was gone until the end of the game.  Gardiner, schenn with 27 minutes.

Schenn had one of his more solid games of the year.

Wilson called it easily Schenn's best game of the season.

And a point shot by Souray hit Gunnar's hand.  Wasn't one of his howitzer's thankfully.

It's funny...when the shootout was about to start i said ...oh good ...now the leafs have a chance to win ... because really that is what the shootout does ..it screws the team that deserved to win .... but hey ..still happy...great game over all in net...i felt when it mattered most he came up with the stops...that's what i always liked about cujo..

Souray not getting called for a high stick really bothered me but it was nice to see Lupul remedy rectify that in the end. Here's hoping Steckel and Gunnar are okay and Schenn can build on that really nice showing. Nice to see Goose close the door there when it mattered.

Did Ribeiro do something dumb during the game?  Saw some twitter comments about him, but can't tell if he did something or it was just people not liking him already.

I still despise shootouts, but at least the Leafs no longer flat-out stink in them. It makes it far more bearable to watch.

Yep I was shocked we won actually. Gustavsson hadn't looked sharp on breakaways this season but he was great last night.

I always had faith in Gus.  Good to see him get a hold of
himself and provide solid backstopping capabilities.  He
seems to have found his balance.

I don't remember him doing anything overt, maybe he dove at some point?

I remember a half dive early in the game but honestly that's expected out of Ribeiro so nothing out of the ordinary that I recall.

It probably goes without saying, but just like the last few games the refs were pathetic. I counted at least 4 non-calls that were clear penalties. The worst of all was Lupul, no call yet he was cut in two freaking places!!
