"We keep playing like this and we'll beat them eventually." Uh, no, Ron, you'll keep losing.

I swear I'm not Damian Cox. He seems to be taking pleasure in this loss.

Of course he is. Ron didn't tell him which goalie was playing so now he is mad.

Dude, if we wanted to follow Damien Cox's twitter feed we would.

But, really, why would anyone want to?

To re-post it in the GDT, apparently.

Troll though he may be, he's completely right in this case.  Ron sounds almost apathetic in that quote, which absolutely sends the wrong message to the Leafs.  They ought to be a bit more desperate at this point.

Alright, before all the doom and gloomers drive me away from the site for the night, I just wanted to try to put things into perspective a little bit. The Leafs have not fared well against the Bruins - and, yes, that's putting it mildly - but, let's not forget, the Leafs still have 54 games left against teams other than Boston, so, let's not give the Leafs struggles against the Bruins undue weight.

Also - against teams not from Boston, the Leafs have gone 14-6-2, with a goal differential of +15. When they're not playing Boston, they've been pretty good, and, they're almost done with Boston - no more games against the Beantowers until March.

Hughson says we need some wins to stay near the top of the divison.  Unfortunately with the teams below us so close in points, we now need the wins the stay in a playoff spot.

So, I got back with 2 minutes to go, and immediately turned off the nattering Healy.  How'd Reimer look?  From the GDT sounds like it wasn't his fault.

Our inability to come out with any kind of mojo against BOS is rather troubling, to say the least.

I'd give him a C. He wasn't especially to blame but he never looked great.

Yeah, though, all things considered, a C is a pretty decent performance tonight.

True although as badly outplayed as the Leafs were I don't think Reimer had a crazy tough night outside of the goals.

Yeah, I guess expecting him to came out and stone them was asking too much.

It really is too bad that we have caught Boston as they are riding a wave.  The scheduling this year is bizarre.

But pnjunction -- seriously -- as much as I despise the Bruins trying to explain away an epic streak is really pretty pointless.  They are playing superb hockey, plain and simple.

3 games where we roll over and die in front of them helps

Maybe we can make the playoffs this year and meet Boston in the 1st round, then you can all remind me how them being able to spank us 4 times in a row isn't a big deal

Seriously. I mean, yes, Boston may have had a lighter schedule in terms of quality of opponents, but, it's how they're winning rather than who they're beating that has been impressive. Over their last 14 games, they have not allowed more than 3 goals in any game and have scored 5 or more 7 times. They've outscored their opponent 63 to 26. I mean, weak teams or not, those are pretty impressive numbers.

Agreed. They're virtually in a different league than the Leafs. The score flattered the Leafs tonight. The Leafs were absolutely dominated in nearly every facet of that game. I don't care who the Bruins have been playing. They played outstanding hockey tonight - as well as any team I've seen this season.

If I were merging the two rosters into one team, to be honest about it, it would be a roster heavily dominated by Bruins. But they are the defending Cup champs and tonight we got another lesson why. The Leafs were a non-playoff roster last year that many agreed would fight for a playoff spot - which they're doing.

Nobody thought the Leafs were going to be in the Bruins class this season so none of the above should come as a big shock. As a Leafs fan, it just would have been nice to see them beat these guys like we did down the stretch last season. Maybe next March, they'll be the team missing bodies when we face them next and we'll have progressed or got some help.

I'm not jumping off a cliff over this game. It's a sobering reminder that Burke & Co have plenty of work to do.

I'm pretty sure Boston handled the Leafs quite easily even before their epic streak. When Boston was losing to all other teams they still managed to crush the Leafs.
