Game 36: TOR @ FLA

How do you blame Gus on that lamajama?  It's deflected by Gunnarsson pretty significantly and it's Schenn continuing his mediocre play on the season.

Good thing we gave Wilson that extension though.

What does Schenn deciding to do something stupid, that any junior league player is taught to do (dump it in, don't turnover at blue line) have to do with Wilson getting an extension?

I'm not blaming him as much as Schenn but we really needed a great save there...and we didn't get it which frankly seems to happen in quite a few games.

Offside doesn't exist for the Panthers?  They just had a guy two strides offside on that rush.

It's prematurely rewarding a coach without getting results.  Defensive let-downs have been a constant theme with the team, and they continue.  Two separate thoughts in one post though.

With regards to the Leafs and the way things have gone the last few seasons I can just see a 5-7 game losing streak right after the Wilson extension just to mock Burke.

So shaky goaltending, poor defensive zone coverage, terrible pk based on what I read in this thread?

Wasn't really a game about poor defensive coverage on the Leafs end.  None of Florida's goals really came due to poor defensive coverage - a few lucky ones, some poor goaltending, and the PK.  Even the PK goals were kind of iffy though.

That was a horrible game defensively and goaltending-wise.

Same old same old with this team.

PK the same and now the PP is sucking too. Liles missed?

So frustrating.

Unacceptable loss against a short staffed Panthers team. Boston whips them 8-0 and we lose.

I knew I missed something - lucky bounces for Florida. Got sidetracked by the MSN chatter.

I got the defensive zone coverage from the complaints about Schenn.

Ah, not much to take away from that game.  Too much bad play, too many weird breaks.

Sort of a typical first game back from the Christmas break type game. Neither team was really on the ball tonight.

I would feel that way except for the 2 posts on that one PP.  That's just bad luck.

However, Reimer is beginning to upset me.

Although, I mean, it's not too hard to draw a line. Schenn committed a pretty basic, rudimentary mental error. I think that's the sort of thing that can pretty easily be attributed to coaching.
