All you people ripping Gunnarson can stop now you're making Zee upset.

I love how when a forward blows his coverage, a defenceman gets blamed.

A defencemen came from the blueline, walked to the front of the net, got behind the D, took a pass and scored.. completely untouched.. EVERYONE blew their coverage

And JvR clearly had that guy and totally stopped skating in with him.

The other guys had their assignments. They leave them to take Sekera and it's a pretty simple pass to the open man. It's lose-lose.

yeah but you have to adapt to the situation.. he skated right between 2 defencemen who just let him go by to the net.. it wasn't just Gunnar.. one of those two guys should have picked him up.

That still leaves a Sabre forward all alone in the slot. Like I said, lose-lose. JvR needed to have his man. Once he blew his coverage, everyone was boned.

It's a pick your poison thing.. but the guy on the doorstep should be priority.. Reimer was hung out to dry.. I didn't see the other Sabre in front. Water under the bridge though.. lets see if we can hold a lead!

Franson the good, for sure. He is frustrating the Sabres tonight, even on defense.
Am I on the correct board?

Every once in a while, Franson has one of these games, and we remember why a number of us were excited when the Leafs picked him up. By next week, he'll be the goat again, I'm sure.

The Leafs play so much of the game without the puck. They've got the speed to get to the puck but lack the fortitude to win the battle. They keep dumping the puck in but can't win it back. Then it's just back off, back off...

Kadri with some real good speed and creativity. Looked really dangerous there. Nice, double minor! Komarov paying dividends!
