Damn right you showed them!  Chump.

IIRC, that's about his 3rd or 4th goal of the second half. What a captain!

Are you sure?  I thought this takes us out of it.

The Islanders won, so they're a point back. In Anaheim beats Edmonton tonight, they stay ahead. Minnesota's 1 point back if they lose in regulation (they're currently trailing). All this game does is take Montreal out of equation.

It may not be likely, but, it's certainly possible.

Ok, thanks.  And 4th is like an 8% chance, right?

We will win Saturday.

I am going to put a ton of money on a Leafs win.  That way, I'll be happy regardless.

Leafs win = money
Leads lose = lottery pick

OMG! That is the most amazing idea ever!

Nice! With that assist Kessel will finish with at least 82 points. Very nice year for him.

I agree!  Guaranteed He'll be a point per game player!  Too bad he probably won't hit 40 goals

Hahah I do it ALL the time during the regular season.  I bet against the Leafs all the time so I end up being happy in some way after the game.

A lot better than you suckers who just sit and spew :p

I will say it's nice to see the players aren't concerned about the draft position. Say what you will about the Phaneuf goal, but there were a lot of paying customers happy to see it.

Something like that, yeah. 8.1% I think. At the very least, if everything falls into place for that, it guarantees a top 5 pick.

If there's anything funnier than a guy mean mugging after a goal to win a meaningless game I don't know what it is. Grrr, yeah, you showed 'em Dion.

Now that I have calmed down about the wasted opportunity to get a top 3 pick, I have to say that Dion is actually comical. What you describe is truly laughable.

Captain oh my captain indeed.

Why oh why are the people cheering? Is it for the lower draft pick? Is it for the great season? Is it for the worst fall off in Leafs history (from Feb 7th on)?

I think we've been through this many times. It's almost like people actually enjoy watching their team win and enjoy seeing its player's score goals.

Possibly. Perhaps some just aren't that excited over the prospect of getting a draft pick we probably won't see the result of for 3 years, and probably won't even be that good.

Short term pleasures.

I have no idea why people cheered the team at the end of the game. If there was ever a time when the team deserved to be booed then this was it. A pathetic season being capped off by captain fantastic getting a meaningless overtime winner and celebrating like it was a 7th game in the playoffs. The Leafs cost themselves a great draft pick last night. What will they do Saturday? Fall even further? And if so, pardon me for not cheering!
