Game 82: Maple Leafs @ Le Habs, 7:00pm, finally an end to our misery!

The closing montage used was set to "Bound for the Floor" by Local H. A little on the nose there, CBC.

If I had my way this would leave considerable cap room and competition for six or so new skaters in the summer.

Coming Back

David Steckel - See you next year Dave, very usueful bottom six pivot.
Tyler Bozak - Get strong and faster in the summer, see you at camp.
Matt Frattin - Looks like a talent, work on getting faster and stronger and come to camp more willing to release the puck, accurately.
Nik Kulemin - Leave whatever has been ailing you in California this summer, I want to see some scoring come camp.
Joffrey Lupul - Whatever you did last summer, do it again and look up the word defence while you're on vacation.
Mike Brown - Be healthier you moustached freakshow.  Get used to the idea of playing on the 4th line with Crabb and Steckel next year.  P.S. I love you.
Mikhail Grabovski - We'll see you next year Grabo.
Phil Kessel         - See Ya next year Phil
Dion Phaneuf - We'll see you next year Dion.
Luke Schenn - See you next year kid, attend a power-skating school in the  summer.
Jake Gardiner - Good luck with the Marlies, see you next year and thanks.
Cody Franson - Have a good summer, we hope you compete for a spot in camp.
Carl Gunnarsson          - Thanks, get well soon and see you at camp.

Not Coming Back

Jay Rosehill - Bye Jay, thanks for trying some of the time.
Joey Crabb - Your play means you should get an NHL gig this summer as an UFA, ala Tim Brent.  Good luck Joey, might have endeared himself to Carlyle though, could be bottom line guy next year.
Matthew Lombardi - Bye Matt, thanks and congrats on getting healthy, trade for futures.
Mike Komisarek - Send someone a second round pick with him for a future considerations.
Colby Armstrong - Better than he has looked if he can stay healthy, good luck doing that elsewhere. Trade for best offer.
Tim Connolly - Cap floor team might take him, accept a middling prospect in return.
John-Michael Liles - Explore getting a 1st OR good 2nd for him.

Tim Connolly was brought in because this team needs a #1 center.  Well he was a -4 tonight, so maybe we'll get one...through the draft.

6th last looking forward to Burke telling us how this BS smells like roses

Is it 6 or 5?  How do we rank vs Anaheim?

Colour me confused about that... I'll sure sleep better tonight having a handle on it. Somebody?... Help?

5th, head to head record doesn't count because there was only 1 game.

Goal differential is the deciding tie breaker.

Indeed I was going by nhl.com and they've swapped them now Leafs 26th.

One of the worst seasons in my 32 years of watching the Leafs.

Here's hoping they do get the next Filitatov in the draft for their efforts......

Regardless of the draft, unless Burke can revamp the D core to play defense, next season will be alot like this one. Can't wait.

Instead of watching last night's game, I chose to watch Howl's Moving Castle with my kids. I stand by my decision.

Good riddance to one of the worst, most disappointing seasons ever. From February on, it was like watching a Game 7 OT goal against agonizingly spread over dozens of games.

That's a pretty good movie, hard to argue, though you did miss a spectacular 5 on 3 shorty. :)

Oh, I caught the replay of that one later...  Oh, man... :o

The kids wanted to watch Howl again the next day, which they did.  It's unbelievable, two boys aged 3 and 7 who are at each other's throats all the time, but if you put on any Miyazaki film, they just sit and watch quietly and peacefully.
