Well, I can't pretend it's going to be a pretty year but I do miss these when they're not around.

Just wondering, I only caught a few games during the preseason and only saw Hunwick once...How did he end up on the first pairing? Is he a better fit up there over Gardiner or Reilly?

Babcock took a liking to him early, I don't think he's played with anyone but Phaneuf in preseason. I wouldn't expect that pairing to stay together over the course of the season, at least not as the "number 1" pairing.

I imagine the defense lines are going to be rolled out with fairly even ice time throughout the season. So he's not really "up there" but rather just "there." People are writing it our that way because Phaneuf has traditionally been the team's best defenseman.

Mark Masters tweeted out these powerplay lines from practice yesterday:

Phaneuf-Parenteau-Kadri-JVR-Boyes
Gardiner-Arcobello-Bozak-Lupul-Holland

I appreciate the idea behind having 4 forwards on the PP and all, but Rielly just has to be there somewhere.
