This guy sat down for a one-on-one interview with Fox, the outlet that actively stumps for him, and it went all sorts of not good.

How should the federal government spin "tear gassing a lot of mothers"

"well, we know they're not ALL mothers. Statisically-speaking, some of them were lesbians and we know lesbians can't have children."

Fox News seems to only make the news when *checks notes* someone follows in Roger Ailes' footsteps.

Which one will run for the presidency next?

There were some people who felt Carlson was setting himself up for a run in 2024 when he mildly disagreed with Trump a couple weeks ago.

Hannity might already be too toxic. He's been too close to Trump. Carlson hasn't been quite as hands-on with Trump's campaign.

Carlson has featured some broadly populist stuff on the economy inbetween all of the overt racism. Whether that's because it's becoming clear that even white reactionaries in red states don't like big corporations and banks or because a lot of those corporations have vaguely left wing social politics(while continuing to give money to both parties to avoid paying taxes) is anyone's guess.

The thing is he's always struck me as effectively amoral. Someone who only barely believes the things he says if it leads to a high paying TV gig. Trump's effectively amoral too but he combines it with declining cognitive ability and laziness.

He strikes me as an older Patrick Bateman.
