Jets @ Leafs - Apr. 5th, 7:00pm - CBC, SN 590

Is Bernier butterfly? Is he not a bit more of a hybrid?

He's a butterfly goalie that has been trying out the standup thing lately because of his groin issues. He's as much a hybrid as Reimer is - he's just a little bit quicker laterally.

Bad bounce but that's what happens with a butterfly goalie. If he was even on his knees that's not going in

So, 99% of the goalies in the league then?

Nope not even close.

Yep, pretty much almost right on actually.  Give or take.

You're saying 99% are butterfly or 99% wouldn't have stopped that?

99% are butterfly, or a variation thereof depending how you want to define it.

I see. Luongo did that face plant quite often a few years ago until Vancouver changed goalie coaches. It was a reverse snow angel. Whatever the new coach did I don't know but he cut way down on that.

Can someone tell me why the Leafs PP is do regularly brutal?

Well, part of it is that they seemingly refuse to acknowledge the existence of the one-timer.

Phaneuf was actually set up on the correct side for one for once but never got the pass. If he could hit the net that is.  I don't know if Carlyle realizes it but Gardiner has been on with Dion  and that allows Dion to be on the right side

You know, I feel bad for Maurice. He's just never had a good goalie to work with. He's turned the Jets into a playoff calibre team that's being let down in net.

Absolutely embarrassing.  Fire Carlyle before the game is over.

Don't we wish.  Like I said, this is the last time we'll see him behind the Leafs bench at the ACC.
