They're about to talk to Feschuk on the radio about this website and the quotes. LOL

Oh dear.  I have to say, while I get truly annoyed by the other columnists in there, Feschuk is the only one I truly, truly dislike.  He's so smug and belittling to the players he doesn't like - so I don't mind him getting a taste of his own medicine every now and then.

EDIT:  There's no way I'm listening, but apparently he's now calling Kessel a "Mr. October."  Conveniently ignoring the playoff scoring to suit him.

Well Nik we will have to remedy that don't you think

Like, you and me? Some sort of hijinx wherein we go on a cross country road trip to steal Tyler Seguin's championship ring only to realize that the real championship ring is in all of us?

Metaphorically, I mean.

So, and obviously it's fresh in the mind, but was last night Kessel's best game as a Leaf?

he dragged a team from a 2-0 hole back into the game by its boot laces and led it to a 6-3 win. The kind of thing people said he wouldn't ever do.

He did it against Anaheim this season, down 2-0, 4-2 win with a Kessel hat trick.

Phil has scored 314 pts in 339 games played for the Maple Leafs. He currently sits at 32 on all time franchise scorer list. He needs 79 points to crack TOP20, 223 points to crack TOP10 and 673 points to equal Mats Sundin. That?s a hill of gigantic proportions to climb, but if he stays next 8 years, we may be witnessing new all-time scoring leader in making.

So here goes....I'm gonna say it. The Kessel trade was a great one, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Burke should be commended for making it, even with all the backlash that followed.

Nonis should also be given credit for signing him to a very reasonable long term contract.

I wanted Phil from the first time he scored 2 against us years ago with the Bruins?.and I shouted it out when many where saying what a f---k up Burke made.  Nice to be vindicated by one of the most brilliant snipers of all time?and then Burke went and got us JVR my second most coveted player?oh and lets forget brought in the Bozak.
And then he left us with Nonis whom continues to do great things?finally after all these years.

The fact he's done it more than once cements him as even better then! I think though that last night at 2-0 down there was absolutely no indication of a change in the game coming then boom.

Either way he's so great to watch and getting better and better.

And possibly making the USA Olympic favourites?

Kessel is awesome, no doubt.  That was never in question when Burke acquired him.  It will always be about how much he gave up for Kessel.  Burke misjudged the quality of his team.  Kessel turning into one of the top players in the league doesn't change that.

Phil Kessel's first four years vs. Tyler Seguin's first four years (plus projected pace to finish this 4th season)
Kessel- 96G 85A 181P
Seguin- 93G 111A 204P

I'll take Kessel everyday and twice on Sunday, but if Burke had adjusted the trade to have that first pick be top 5 protected or something like that the Leafs would have been a billion times better off.  Burke was so sure of himself that he could avoid a rebuild and it set the team back. That the Leafs are where they are currently is partially luck and the result of a roster that is still heavily flawed.

Kessel is awesome though.  He keeps adding small elements to his game that make it look like he is going to definitely end up as one of the Leafs all-time greats.

?I don?t know, go home and hang out,? Kessel said when asked how he would celebrate his big performance.

I don't even know why, but that just makes me laugh.  Kessel's great.
