Leafs 2012/2013 Schedule in 10 game chunks

Next few games are all pretty big.  Keeping a lead on Jersey is obviously important, and playing host to Ottawa, only to travel to Boston the next day is going to be a major hurdle.

I fully expect wins over NJ and Ottawa and then a loss to Boston.  The 2 wins will give the Leafs a modest 3 game winning streak if all goes as planned.

Gah whyyyy are we @ Boston on a 2nd night of a back-to-back

I live 10 minutes from Fleet Bosotn Garden. Maybe I can get in theri early and like drop maple syrup on teh bruins bench so it gets stuck to skates or anything I can to slow them down?

and boston has the night before off

And yet we've played 5 more games than them already (with 1 of theirs being postponed).

yeah..i keep hearing how their sched gets bad at some point ..but i i'm starting to think that happens after the leaf's season is already over :)

The game against the Leafs is their 4th in 6 nights, though.

Steal Chara's skates and then tell Marchand you love his sister (then duck the haymaker).

Aside from 1 game against Winnipeg, the next 6 are all against teams in playoff position.  This could easily be where the Leafs drop out of the playoff picture.  They've been playing poorly for quite a stretch of games, getting systematically outshot and outchanced, even against weak teams.

yeah..but this is also the stretch where they will probably get frattin and lupul back ...and i still think that's going to be a pretty big deal

They've also played more games than all teams except the Flyers in Feb. To suggest they are a little on the tired side wouldn't be unfair.  Excuse? No, just part of the reality of this season.  They did look like they were wearing down the last 3-4 games. Certainly last night look like the last gasp.

Hopefully the 3 days they have off to rest and practice will get things back in line again.

It's definitely an ugly stretch of games to complete the "next 10" but while all teams are theoretically good enough to make the playoffs, aside from Boston, they are all flawed teams.

There is no reason the Leafs can't beat any of those teams (again aside from Boston who just own the Leafs whenever they play).

Kadri has been either man of the match or HM for the last 5 straight games going back to the previous 10 chunk.

Playing Boston tomorrow just as Boston has lost 2 straight games -- yay for us to get a ticked off Boston team looking for a win while the Leafs are on a back to back.

We get a Boston team tomorrow in Boston who lost last night to Washington after giving up a three goal lead. Yeah they wont be a nasty mood at all ???

For the Leafs, that is the best time to strike.  Go after the Bruins and get in their face for a change.

It always sounds good until the puck drops and Boston starts giving the Leafs noogies.

We could fashion some similar sort of comment no matter what their previous game was.

"Boston won 5-0, they'll be rolling tomorrow!"
"Boston lost 7-1, they'll come out flying tomorrow"
"Boston's game was postponed, they'll want to make up for it tomorrow"

etc, etc.

Well giving up a 3-0 lead to a team sitting second last in your conference is pretty embarrassing. I couldn't have made that comment if Boston won 3-2 or 1-0. Then it would be a regular Boston game :)

Looking at it like this looks pretty good.  I'll take 3 straight wins sandwiched by individual losses anytime.  Let's start another 3 game winning streak now.  Hey look, no more Boston in this chunk of 10.

OK, here's the deal.  If the Leafs can get out of this chunk with a 6-4 record or better, I will officially declare this group a playoff team.  So let it be written:
