Leafs 2015/2016 Schedule in 10 game chunks

6 out of 10 points, if my old man math is correct...pretty decent little stretch.

Yeah 2-1-2 doesn't look nearly as bad as that first 10 game stretch.  It's actually fairly good considering this roster.

My signature is still true. Looks like I'm not missing much😟😟😟

I just do Game-in-6 these days and have for awhile. Far cry from the 82 games (plus watching the taped game a second time) I used to do.

I'm patient though. I'll get back to watching once the team builds to an entertaining level. I'll never be a Leaf-a-holic again though. Ahhh, the temptress that is Leaf-a-hol. :-[

My life is just too different now (kids)

Two in a row?  What is this madness?

Points in 5 of 6? I think I'm going to be sick.

Still, 2 goals or less in 4 of those 6 games. They've gotten a lot of help from their goaltending, which has been excellent. At this point, I'm confident in saying what we're seeing from the offence is what we should be expecting. We're through 1/5 of the season, and in 10 of 16, they've scored 2 or less. The offence isn't going to improve much. The goaltending has seen a bit of a correction from their early season troubles, but it won't sustain its recent level of play. It'll normalize somewhat, and that'll lead to more losses.

So, have no fear, this is just a blip. Their 5-on-5 possession numbers are slipping to decidedly middle of the pack status, and their score adjusted 5-on-5 numbers are inside the bottom 10. They're putting up more points, but not playing as well/controlling the puck as much.

To be fair even last seasons' Leafs went 8-1-1 in the 3rd chunk before falling off the cliff.  It remains to be seen if the new Babcock system can survive an entire season without a total collapse.

Oh yeah, I'm not actually changing my prediction that we'll be a bottom-5 team or anything. And during this streak we've had something like a 44% CF. This has been all Reimer.

Oh, I know. That was more of a preemptive strike against the "see, they're not a bottom 5 team!" crowd.

Yeah but some of that is the fact that 5 of their past 6 games have been against teams in the top 8 so far in score adjusted CF%.  There's still a lot of poorer possession teams for them to face.

I really have no idea how they are going to fare.  Reimer is going to come back down, but Bernier will come back somewhat as well.  And while I don't think they're going to start lighting the lamp, the SH% should tick up slightly as well because they're not completely devoid of offensive talent IMO.  I'm not sure what to make of them yet.

EDIT: To clarify, I mean what to make of them in terms of bottoming out.

Much to the chagrin of many, the Leafs will continue to have these types of rollercoaster rides, so to speak, throughout the season.  Not that they won't be a bottom five team, nor will the goaltenders continue to stand on their heads, it's just that with Babcock at the helm, he won't tolerate bad performances/no hard work from this team.

Which is why we should expect to see some more of the colour green on Zee's chart.

yes Reimer has been as good as he should be, but we limited Nashville to 22 or 23 shots. That helps win games as well (good blocking boys, I guess you will be all black and blue soon)
