As much as we complain about the way this team plays sometimes theyve still got a really good record.Zee said:

Well if Andersen's injury is more serious then they are letting on, and McBackup or Sparks can't carry the mail, then things could get dicey if Florida starts to get closer.

If the Leafs go .500 (11/22 remaining points), the Panthers would have to go .893 to tie the Leafs.
If the Leafs go .364, (8/22 remaining points) which is below the pace of the last place overall team, the Panthers would have to go .786 to tie the Leafs.
It would pretty much take the Leafs being the worst team in the league and the panthers being the best team in the league for the remainder of the season in order the Panthers to catch the Leafs.
I mean, I guess its possible but the chances of them catching the Leafs are very remote.

Even in your scenario of Leafs only getting 8 out of 22 points, that would give them 99 points on the year, surely that's a playoff spot even if Florida plays insane and passes the Leafs.
Haha. But i mean if Leafs end with 99 points, and Florida somehow goes nuts and has 100, how would the 2 wild card teams also have 100? I think it's pretty impossible, but hey I'd tip my hat to the East if that happensSignificantly Insignificant said:Zee said:Deebo said:Significantly Insignificant said:Zee said:

You would think that with a 4 goal lead with ten minutes left in game 7 you were going on to the second round but..... .

Real Leafs fan McDavid did the Leafs a solid today and beat the Panthers in regulationSignificantly Insignificant said:Zee said:Haha. Yeah, I guess the cynical side of me is just waiting for them to clinch so that it's a sure thing. The alarms start to go off when a team starts a hard charge from behind, and the Leafs are missing their top goalie and top centre.
