8 games this season he has let the first goal in. That is the point.

Yes. He's a mediocre goalie playing on a bad team. He's paid like a mediocre goalie. He performs like a mediocre goalie. But, that goal had nothing to do with him being a mediocre goalie.

The team is not bad, other then SJ game they have been in every game. A first shot save may have changed their fate.(I am no tanker fan)

Kadri's 2 on 1 pass blocked by a sliding defender.  I seem to remember an argument about that defending style...

I think that was a bad decision by Kadri though. Miller was already down and Kadri decided to try and saucer it rather than shoot.

Hey, Lupul sighting.

3 pretty good chances, 2 on the PP, and a good backcheck in his last shift to take away a possible scoring chance.

His latest hangnail must be all healed up!  Ready to play hockey again.  8)

Even though Marincin didn't play the puck well there I like how quick his stick was trying to tie up Spooner.  It would be great if he develops into a solid 2nd-pairing guy.

Anyone who says the Leafs aren't a bad team needs to watch that last PP. The unit the Leafs went with to start things consisted of two veterans signed to one year deals at or near the minimum, two guys they probably would have traded away for nothing in the off-season and a marginal prospect they just called up from the AHL.

Good team have good players already on their NHL roster.

All in all, that was enjoyable hockey, so far at least. Credit to Bernier, he fought through that first shot goal pretty solid.

You should have shared this formula with the Leafs about 10 years ago.  :D
