So which one of these bums scores their first goal first?

I'm saying Soshnikov tonight (Kadri set-up), Nylander and Kapanen both score tomorrow night (mostly because I can't watch tonight's game).

Soshnikov is my pick too.

Is it safe to say that if he scores a goal tonight that he will be getting Sloshnikov'd?

Reading that Laich was good in the community. 12 year Washington vet. Lou wouldnt've taken the contract on unless he was good in the room.

If there was a second round pick in it I think he'd take back any short contract.

... and bury him in the minors, right.

"Lou wouldnt've taken on the contract and leave him up unless he was good in the room."

Just in general I'm not a big believer in "good in the room" being something that's easily ascertained. Different guys fit well in different situations. Laich has some value as a PKer an hopefully can be flipped next year. I'd guess that was the motivation.

12 years is a long time... just when there's about to be the fruits of his labour :)

I hope the Caps bow out in the 1st round.  I think that should make him feel better about being traded away.

Part of any trade that involved taking back a contract is to try to turn that player into a tradable asset. Any contract the Leafs took back (other than Cowen, whose value comes from the buyout credit) was going to stay on the NHL roster.
