Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (37-20-5, 2.83 GAA, .917 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?With Dermott still out, it looks as though the Leafs will try Carrick on the left side for a game
?Babcock is hopeful that Dermott will return to the line-up for Toronto's final regular season game on Saturday
?A number of Leafs are close to some impressive statistical benchmarks: Marner is 1 points away from 70 on the season. Nylander is 1 goal away from 20 and 1 point away from 60 (either one will earn him a $212,500 bonus). Hyman is 1 point away from 40

NYI
?Kinkaid (25-10-3, 2.82 GAA, .911 Sv%) will likely start for the Devils
?Keith Kinaid might not be a household name, but he's started 7 straight games for the Devils and is 15-3-1 with a .927 Sv% in his last 20 games
?Corey Schneider, on the other hand, is 0-9-2 since his last victory on DECEMBER 27TH. He has a .868 Sv% in that span and did miss some time in February with groin/hip problems
?I don't need to tell you that Taylor Hall is having a Hart-worthy season. His 93 points is 6th best in the league. The next two highest scoring players on New Jersey have a combined 95 points
?The Devils can clinch a playoff spot tonight with a win

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?Travis Dermott - Foot - Day to day
Code:

?Marcus Johansson - Concussion - Questionable Thursday

We've talked about Damon Severson before as a potential trade target. He's been a healthy scratch for 2 games in a row before tonight, which is of course pretty telling since the Devils are fighting for their playoff lives still. I wonder if there's a Severson-for-Zaitsev swap to be had in the offseason.

Also after typing up New Jersey's forward line-up I've decided to give Hall the Hart trophy. There's no more debate.

Which is fitting seeing as how Larsson is going to probably win the Norri.....oh wait.

42 points! Last year at this time Hall seemed so depressed... cast aside and out of the playoffs as his old team accelerates at full speed into the playoffs. Good for him for bouncing back in a massive way. MVP?

Poor Chiarelli... no one will ever forget this trade.

If it weren't for Gallant, Hynes would be walking away with the Jack this June.

I don't know about that. Bednar has just about doubled the point total of his team from last year.

Vegas had 0 points last year.

Or do you mean Hynes vs Bednar?

Haha I had to look him up.  That's fine and so forth but as stated it's a mutilated point because what's given in Vegas stays in Vegas.

It strikes me as being pretty clear that I'm disagreeing with the conclusion of ZBBM's statement(which is that, excluding Gallant, Hynes would win the trophy in a walk).

This is interesting deployment. Carrick got on for the icing faceoff in OZ, bridging a change from Gardiner (in OZ) to Polak. Gardiner comes back on with Polak for the DZ draw.
