I didn?t mean the straight out favourite I mean heavily favoured as in top 3.

Right. So, let's see where they are in the standings...ah yes...tied for third in the entire league.

If you look at the odds in Vegas whatever Leafs were in the top 3 teams to win the Stanley Cup.

I mean bookmakers base their odds on what people are betting on. If piles of people put money on something the odds come down. So all that really tells you is that people were betting on the Leafs. Of course you could argue that people were betting on the Leafs cos they are a favourite, but you also have to recognise that when it comes to sports teams heart often overrules head and people will bet on their team no matter what so it's not really a flat out good indicator of ACTUAL favourites.

In the words of the OverDrive crew, this was a veteran move.

I am Hainsey in conversations like this.

The announcers didn't really pick up that there was a hand pass right away so when that happened live I may have screamed at my TV a little bit.

It always amazes me that people take Vegas odds seriously.

My heart skipped a beat when that happened and my oldest was like "WHAT'S HAINSEY DOING DADDY!!??"

Played beer league hockey last night and this looks like some of our line changes except for it being a hand pass.

I don't want him in the lineup, but I have to give credit where credit is due:
Hainsey knows what to do and where to play and all that good Babcock stuff: his body just can't keep up and that's too bad. But primary amongst his skillset is that he can make me laugh.

So Vegas had them as one of the top 3 teams in the league, they're tied for the third most points in the entire league so...your entire complaint isn't about how they've actually performed but just your own perception about whether or not they're going to win in the playoffs?

Almost everyone had the Lightning as one of the top 3 teams as well. The odds for the Leafs to come out of their division were always tough.

Hainsey's biggest weakness is that Babcock thinks he's the best option for the top pairing. He'd be fine, maybe even good, in a bottom pair/PK role.

Dermott should start playing with a right shot stick and become an ambidextrous dman and maybe he gets moved up in the lineup.  Barring that Dubas needs to pick up a steady right shot dman that can play in Hainsey's current spot.

For all the money that the Leafs are pumping into their sports science department it's a shame they haven't figured out how to get that done yet.

Yeah just imagine like a scene in Rocky II, the Bruins are targeting the right side of the D in a game and Babcock yells out "NOW!!!" and all the left shot d-men suddenly switch hands and sides and counter attack.  Play dramatic music, Leafs on the rise, Cassidy loses a bit more hair as he watches the Bruins go down in flames...
