I love watching Sandin play. He's not just outstanding at making passes, he's also brilliant at creating passing opportunities. I have no problem putting on the PP ahead of Rielly. And great hit on Wheeler.
They actually ran the PP with Sandin instead of Rielly...this kid is the real deal and to think he's only played 4 games in over a year. Impressive.

That's more like it. Great game. Foligno joining them seems to have really kickstarted a level of play we haven't seen in a while. They're playing with some toughness too which is nice to see.

A good quiet game for Jack, also

One thing is for sure, Sandin should not be taken out of this line up when Bogosian returns.
Well that's 4 weeks away so we'll see how he does. If he keeps this up, Dermott will probably sit.

This was an impressive game for the Leafs.  The won without Matthews and Marner being overly dominate in the offensive zone.  Seemed to be the type of game where the other team focused on the Leafs top line, and the rest of the lines stepped in to get the win.  Also they were solid defensively.  Also liked the fact that they were able to get under the skin of their opponent and throw them off a little bit, kinda of like what ahs happened to the Leafs when they play Boston in the playoffs.

Adam Brooks, who has no standout physical skills like Kapanen or Robertson or Bracco, has the brain and work rate to make it work with high end talent that has slowed in their skating. He makes up for the more average skating speed and middling shooting with the anticipation smarts of an elite player. The 97-77-19 line is really fun at crushing more straightforward opposition in an overmatch role lower in the lineup. They're all great passers, puck holders, and game thinkers.

I really hope Brooks continues to grow.  I wonder if he has the potential to be an Andy McDonald type with this team.

These Jets seem so fragile, getting hurt on pretty standard physical contact. Ehlers looks like he hurt himself trying to deliver a reverse hit on Muzzin there.

Pretty innocent looking hit:

It does but if the angle is a little off, especially on a shoulder, can do all kinds of damage.

They should have traded for Sabourin at the deadline. He would have kept Thornton, Simmonds, and Muzzin in line.

Leafs broke the Jets. They're getting smoked 5-0 by the Oil so far. 2md period not over yet. Hellebuyck, 5 goals on 21 shots.
