There really aren?t moral victories.  You either win or you don?t.  They haven?t won in a week and a half.  At a time they were desperately fighting for home ice.

Home ice is gone.  Just win some games and stop being pathetic.

Just make sure Dubas is ready for the offseason.  He will be able to get started in earnest in no more than 5 games after the playoffs start.

They should of had better luck. They needed to throw a big body in front of Rinne. Oh wait we dont have any of those players.

Kadri's offense has been missing all season and doesn't look like it's coming back.  Do you tell him he's a shutdown guy for the playoffs?  And hard-match him against Bergeron's line?

Yes, tell him that and not to get suspended this time.

I think you have to.  Any offense at all is a real bonus.  He?s the only forward we have that will thrive against Marchand as long as he keeps his head.

No because his line can't check that line and we don't want Kadri playing more then JT or Matthews

Not a good team currently.

I liked their game tonight.  best game they've played in awhile

Like I said.  I don?t buy the moral victories thing.  It?s just another loss.

You also don?t buy their wins.  I get venting during a game but you are just pissing over literally the best season this team has had in 20+ years.

Last I checked they won on Friday.  It wasn't pretty, but they did win one game during that dreadful week.

I?m actually proud of how the team held it?s own and threw everything but the kitchen sink (well, almost if not for that anemic PP) at Nasville?s Pekka Rinne.

Defensive miscues aside, (Ozzy, how could you not?), if Rinne hadn?t been super alert by any other description, it goes to show just how offensively dangerous the Leafs are (hey, we already knew that).

Since home-ice advantage has now become a foregone conclusion, the best we can hope for are efforts like these (assuming both Dermott & Gardiner still out by then) on a wing & a prayer that the hockey gods give Boston a total lapse.  😳  (No, that won?t happen).

I remain optimistic for the post-season.  Have too, we can?t be moping already.  Besides, I want to c-h-e-e-r for something.  🙂

Leafs win: Typical Caryle hockey

Leafs lose, but play well: Just win baby!

Not sure what Freddie was doing there.  5 straight games  leafs have given up the 1st goal.

Since Dec 20th Freddie has given up at least 2 goals in every game but one.

I really don't understand the significance of this stat.

The routinely giving up the first goal is definitely concerning.

If you're speaking of his second statement, I am confused as well. The Leafs should of won 0 to -1 last night? It's mind boggling when a group of fans point at the goalie in a loss that the team doesn't even get on the board.

Also, moral victories are a thing. It's great that someone on a message board doesn't buy it, but this game was played well. Two defensive miscues aside, the Leafs showed they could limit a top team to 19 shots by playing good defense. They had some chances on offense but couldn't convert.

Believe me, they aren't high-fiving each other in the locker room, but they should feel slightly better than they did coming out of Saturday's 6-2 loss. Tonight could of spelled disaster, and when Muzzin coughed that puck up to start the game(the idiotic backhand up the middle), i thought..oh great, here we go. And then again 5 minutes later when they converted on his boneheaded pass, I thought, yup, another blowout. But it wasn't. They shut the door. They just couldn't score. After 4 terrible games, you can't expect them to become world beaters overnight . Confidence doesn't just suddenly reappear.

I didn't see all of the game last night, but what I did see didn't look like Carlyle hockey. They appeared to play a solid game for
the most part, with more emphasis on defense. Good compete level. Of course, the problem is they didn't generate a lot of
chances and none of them went in the net. Still, I consider it a sign of progress considering what we've seen from the lately (and
for much of the season for that matter).
