Leafs @ Predators - Mar. 22nd, 8:00pm - SNO, Fan 590

My favourite thing about it, other than just scoring oodles, is that the Preds tried to get them off their game with heaviness early on and the Leafs just kept honey badgering through the hits and forcing the play North.

It's amazing how things can play out when you don't let the other team dictate the pace.

In case you guys didn?t feel good enough about tonight, the sens were eliminated tonight. The Habs were eliminated last night.

Detroit also eliminated tonight.

Oh yeah. I assumed they were already out back in November.

Those were 2 interesting games.  As said, the Leafs didn't just win 5 of the 6 periods, they dominated them.

The sixth, unfortunately, was a textbook example of dedomination.

At least we know they can play with the best teams in the league.  I think this is going to be one confident bunch going into the playoffs.

Something that will make us all feel good:  how the Leafs fare in comparison to the best team in the league (the Predators)...(prior to Toronto's their 5-2 win Thursday)

There were a lot of good defencemen playing on the other side last night, but to me Rielly looked like the best one on the ice.

Get that guy a legit partner and look out.

What do you mean?  We are one of the best in the league, so we should be able to play with them.
I think we are already a top ten team, and will be for some time.

Yup, we make the opposition cry  ;)

And sometimes the fans.

Austin's goal, it's amazing how he corrals the puck like a lacrosse player. He has the ability to literally pickup the puck with his stick at high speed and shoot. His hands are unreal. Please stay healthy.

I liked Marners goal as well.

yep Rielly is starting to round out his game in a very nice way. Dermot starting to look like the real deal.  Hopefully Lilypad will turn out to be the same.

I'm really impressed with Dermott.  He looks like a bonafide top pair guy with some of his play.  Hopefully Lilly can be as good or better, Leafs D would be good to go for a few years.

I am shamelessly swiping this from Reddit but someone there pointed out that last night JVR scored his 34th goal of the season, after which #34 scored his 29th goal of the season, after which #29 scored his 16th goal of the season, after which #16 scored.

To bring it full circle, Marner's goal was his 20th of the season and after that Gardiner scored his 5th goal. 20+5 = JVR's jersey number.

Gardiner, #51, also made it 5-1.
