Leafs @ Red Wings - Dec. 15th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

we need to get the players to shot the effin puck. Marner, and Nylander are trying to be too pretty, it is time to just throw the darn puck at the net...

Ugh, just got home from the game.

1) The new Detroit arena is really nice.  It doesn?t quite sit on the rink like the old Joe but still feels really intimate.

2) For a new arena the stands were EMPTY.  Half the crowd was Leafs fans and far too many empty seats.

3) Polak is really bad.  His positioning is just strange at times.  How he didn?t get a penalty for roughing in the second period is beyond me.  I like that he tried to defend his teammate but he went AWOL and got away with it.

4) The dump in game needs to stop.  The leafs are bad at puck retrieval and there is no momentum from anything they are doing

5) The 4th line was really good.  If Martin was capable of knowing how to position his body on the ice he would be a 30 point player on the 4th line but the reality is that he can?t.

6) Kapanen is fast.  He should be in the lineup on the regular

7) Poor Carrick

Rielly had a 61.9% CF last night. Hainsey was at 36%. They... they were partners...

There's a few others things that are of higher important probably that could be addressed right now, but it's becoming pretty clear that Hainsey isn't cutting anymore on that top pairing. He looked really good for the first little bit and that's great, but he's been trending downhill for awhile now.

Not sure why Kapanen didn't get any powerplay ice-time last night. Komarov got equal minutes to everyone else and he hasn't recorded a PP point since the 2nd game of the season. Brown and Marleau have been equally bad if not worse as they have just 1 and 2 points PP points respectively this season despite getting a lot more minutes.

It?s interesting how short a hook he has for rookies and inexperienced players meanwhile the veteran brigade get to make some awful decisions.

Gardiner and Marner were giveaway machines last night..those cute behind the back passes in your own end probably not the best idea...maybe Babcock feels this game plan will prepare the team for playoff hockey but these players don't seem suited to it...turn those speedsters loose Mikey !!

I don't know that last nights game can be laid at the feet of anybody but the players. That effort was downright awful. They had no fight of any sort.
