I generally excuse goalies when they let in goals from shots by elite offensive players, but yeah would have been nice to have a save there. Well, nice for some.

Sadly, that goal was like a first baseman not even seeing the throw from 3rd

Horachek gained a few brownie points for actually putting Gardiner over Phaneuf out there in the last minute.

Man, imagine Phaneuf trying to do some of the things Gardiner did in the last minute or so...

I would imagine he was played for advertisement for a trade over the All star break.

About as good of an outcome as you can hope for.  The Leafs scored a few goals...they played well, in fact outside of the 1st period (and even that had moments where the Leafs were more let down by Reimer than severely outplayed) but they still lost, Ottawa jumps them in the standings and they move to 9th in the draft rankings and a 5% chance at McDavid.

This was probably the game that signals a turnaround for the team though.  A few goals, good overall effort and now a week away from the game to regroup.  I'm sure they win a few games coming off the all-star break now.

You know, after reflecting on it.  You watch the replays on the 2nd goal and it is pretty clear that Clarkson doesn't touch the puck. Yet when the puck went in Clarkson made every effort to make it known that he got a piece of it.  For a guy who is supposed to be a character guy, that's a pretty jerkish move.  Usually you see a guy be pretty clear that they didn't get a piece of the puck, even if it is borderline if they did.

He still had a solid game overall.  Good screens on the goalie, threw a decent number of hits and worked a lot harder then we have seen in the last few months.

I cant understand some of the leaf fans out there its mind boggling. They are 1-9 in the last 10 games and yet they are finding positives somehow... Guys wake up please this team stinks and the only positive is the season is slowly coming to an end.

I too take this approach with life.  I refuse to enjoy my day to day life because Boko Haram exists in the world.  What point is there of living when horrible things exist.

Right on LK, I am having more fun in my 50's then ever before in my life, and I am a huge Leaf fan, that they suck now is good news as things can only get better.  If we were the LA Kings or Chicago, I would really be worried as there is no place to go but downhill. Read some Carl Jung for the explanation.
