Yeah, I don't understand this either. Kerfoot is OK when he has the puck but he loses almost every single puck battle along the boards, often in dramatic fashion. Engvall is more capable along the boards and is deceptively good with the puck, but a lot of his skill seems a bit wasted on the lower lines. First thing I'd do is try Engvall with Tavares and put Kerfoot back on the third line.
They could even try Spezza up with Tavares. Ultimately you hope Soup is back and can be effective by the playoffs.
As for last nights game...that second period was abysmal. Haven't seen the Leafs look that bad against a non playoff team in a long time.
