Murray and Timmins both dealt with no retention and Samsonov and Domi both signed for $3.5mil each would give the Leafs roughly $150-200k in cap space with a 12F-6D-2G roster (12 forward comes down to McMann/Holmberg/Robertson).

Maybe the Leafs try to keep Samsonov's cap hit lower than that with just a 1-year deal.

The Leafs have ran rosters like that quite a bit in the past and it hasn't exactly resulted in disaster. Only gotta play short for 1 game and you're able to call someone else up. There's also bound to be other injuries that result in players going on LTIR that clear up cap space for stretches of the season.

Three guys I would like to shed from roster to create further room for upgrades would be Jarnkrok, Timmins and Giordano.  You should be able to fill those holes easily with better options.

People are complex, so while the anti-vaccine stance is offputting, he wasn?t outright claiming it was some conspiracy or whatever nonsense. I?ll try to respect that personal choice as scientific literacy is a bit tricky to find in the hockey community and the world was and is rife with misinformation. This just goes for me, but as much as I was against the anti-vaxx movement during covid, I'm not keeping score on that anymore and am willing to move on. This includes people in my workplace.

The Leafs are also rumored to be after Domi... let's see how the final roster shapes up. A move or 2 is underway, at least to be cap compliance.

I hope this moves keeps Knies out of the top-6. I think he could be a solid complimentary player on one of those lines for sure, but I think his scoring touch is significantly more needed on the 3rd line.

I agree. Maybe Knies is a top 6 eventually, but let's see him play a few more games till he's a staple winger for Matthews.
