Leafs @ Stars - Dec. 23rd, 7:00pm - SNO, Fan 590

Ah the good old, Phaneuf throws a clean hit so the opposition gets to grab Phaneuf in a scrum.  Dallas better come out of this shorthanded.

Dallas outshooting Toronto 27-19.  The Leafs have 4 powerplays.  All things considered I don't think the Leafs are really doing anything different than the last few games.  They are just facing a team that is just as bad defensively and is having trouble finishing tonight.

Yeah, that's probably a pretty fair assessment. Dallas has definitely had the puck more 5 on 5 all night.

When they went up 3-0 the 5v5 shot attempts were around 25-18 for Dallas - not great, but not as bad as they've been.  Dallas really started to pull away once it was 3-0.

I get it that it's 3rd game in 4 nights but man, this team looks extremely lazy. On the PP they just stand around and watch the Stars PK unit skate. It's embarrassing to be cherry picking on the PP.

Their PP is pretty good actually.  Every PP will have issues at times.

Carlyle going back to a 3 line team.

Panik - 2:39
Booth - 5:35
Smith - 6:46

Also, I guess Panik is hurt?  He hasn't played since midway through the 2nd period.

Yes I know where Leafs PP is ranked in the league. Just commenting on the two opportunities where the Leafs just looked lazy, or maybe tired.

That's actually roughly around where they've been of late - puts the Leafs' possession at 41.9%. There's been some pretty extreme score effect impact since then.

Hmm, that didn't seem that low but you're right.
