When I saw this, I wondered why Matthews didn't just one-time it (or catch-release) as usual. Nylander later mentioned in his post-game scrum that Matthews told him he wasn't even expecting a pass.


It was such a great pass that Matthews didn't even have to rush or go bar down. He took a relatively easy wrist shot (for him anyway)

I think Matthews said he didn't even see it coming lol. Def was a sick pass by Willy and right on the tape.

Yes, he said so in the intermission interview between the 2nd and the 3rd periods.
