He won't get it because that's not how the award works but someone I'd have on that shortlist would be Quenneville.

McGarnagle said:Ah, I read it wrong, as if you meant large scale improvement wasn't the overriding consideration in the award (which it generally does, albeit often unfairly weighted). Agreed, Quenneville won't get it because he'll never be able to show his value with such a strong roster. The voters always look for the cinderella story. (hartley, Roy, etc)
