TSNBobMcKenzie: AAV on Leddy's seven year extension with NYI is $5.5M.

Cap hit is reasonable, but he's not a guy I commit to for that long.
 
I think that's a very good price on all of the UFA years they're buying. I think he'll have to grow some as a player to make it a really good deal overall though.

He's been pretty great this season though and will be only 24 next month.

Seems like a good gamble to make.  He's the type of defenseman who should continue to play well and age well.
