Lightning @ Leafs - Mar. 15th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

That Winnik trade's looking pretty darn good. Too bad it didn't happen 13 minutes later otherwise our trade deadline day wouldn't have been such a bust.

Not sure I really like Hyman with Nylander.  Hyman seems very much a straight line kind of player - try to power past a defender or grind along the wall, crash the net, etc.  I've noticed a number of times where potential rushes or zone time have been lost because he hasn't been able to handle the puck very well in transition.

Babcock seems to like having such a mucker on each line, but I do agree with your assessment. Nylander plays East-West a lot, while Hyman prefers the North-South game. What I like about the pairing is that Hyman forces turnovers for Nylander to grab without as much risk to his health.

Not exactly an abundance of skilled wingers for him to play with. Maybe swap Holland with Hyman, although as herman points out Babcock likes to have that grinder there. (edit:) It's too bad they can't/won't get Kapanen back up.

I would really like to see Nylander playing with Kadri on the powerplay though. I don't recall Nylander being too dangerous on the PP yet at this level but the one time that does stand out was when he and Kadri were feeding each other passes from the opposite walls.

I think you're right that they want a puck retrieval guy playing with Nylander to keep him out of the heavy hits in the corner.
