He hurt his shoulder, missed sometime and has not been the same since. I think it's likely a combo of the injury and the mental toll it took on him.

I did say this is my opinion, not everyone's. Like I said I have written him off and I need to see something to change my mind.

He did hurt his shoulder and had some difficulties staying in the line-up, but I'm not sure the fight had anything directly to do with his sometimes poor play. I don't buy the mental toll thing.

To be fair, Komisarek has been playing his best hockey overall, since this season has started. He was pretty good in the first 3 games and has tailed off the last 2, but I look at him on a game to game basis. He even had a few nice plays last night, breaking up a two on one last night in the third period, then getting stapled to the bench after that.

I don't think he's a world beater on any night, but he's been better this season and if he can continue to play tough and not take bad penalties, I think he'll be fine, his shoulder looks completely healed now IMO.
These attempted massive hits that he consistently misses takes himself completely out of the play... drives me nuts. I would be more impressed if simply held his position and steered these guys into the boards.

There's no doubt that his play can be a lot better, but he has improved. I get that he is the whipping boy, but with his NMC, we're pretty much stuck with him. I'm simply going to hope his play continues to improve and if we have to have him right now, the kids will continue to develop on the farm.
I also won't put it past Wilson to sit him a few nights, as he's done it on more than one occasion, we now have the depth to do these things. I still don't understand the mental toll thing or that the fight had anything to do with his poor play, other than coincidence of timing.

Nazem kadri flew to boston this morning. I'd expect him to move onto the 3rd line with frattin moving to the grabo line.

I like this.

So do I... I wonder... In the grand scheme of things, does this make MacArthur expendable?

Mac's expendability has always been a question of whether or not he was an integral part of the success that the Grabo line had last year. If he is then no, if he isn't then he's always been expendable.

That line needs to simplify things, they make fifteen two foot passes per rush until one goes askew and the threat is dead. Keep it simple stupid.

That line looked better with Frattin on it then with Mac. It's still early tho..

Just to think... the injuered players on the Leafs would make a great line.

MacArthur - Connolly - Armstrong

I wonder if Wilson will put that line in together when they are ready to play again.

Now that shows that we have better depth this year, compared to years passed.

I heard we signed a new player named Tim Connolly.  Any sight of him?  Any news on when he might play?

I tweeted James Mirtle yesterday asking about Tiny Tim's status and he responded:

"He's getting close to return."

Paul Hendrick says it'll be a week at least.

So that will make it what, 4 weeks?  5?  Since the injury.

I heard Shane Hnidy on the radio yesterday.  He said that 2-3 days into camp last year he took an innocent bump on his shoulder, heard a pop, tried playing through it for a week then finally realized he had to have an MRI.  Turns out he tore his rotator cuff, was out for months.

As I listened to him explain the story I couldn't stop thinking of Tim.  In camp.  innocent bump.  Tried practising on it for a week.  Long story short, do we know if Tim had an MRI?  Could this be a little more serious than originally thought?  (having gone from day to day to over a month I think we are already at that point).

I think Komisarek is back in tomorrow, probably at the expense of Franson. There was also news that perhaps MacArthur would be back in, but that hasn't been confirmed anywhere. Reimer is the likely starter.

Here's what I'd like to see tomorrow night, if it's possible...

Lupul Bozak Kessel
MacArthur Grabo Kulemin
Kadri/ Connolly / Frattin
Lombardi / Steckel / Brown

Gunner / Phaneuf
Gardiner / Schenn
Liles / Komo

Reimer
