Plus Wilson may go with 7 D to let Franson play against his old team.

This guy deserves a shot.. he wasn't drafted high and had two good seasons on a decent team.. are we really burying this kid?

Or they just want to get through the next game and then call up Colborne.

Maybe, though Colborne's been injured for the last little while. Is there an ETA on him?

Who cares if its only 1 game for Kadri. I heard that one of the big reasons of moving the AHL team to the big city was precisely that.

And, if it was a home game tomorrow, then maybe that would play into it. Also, that would also require the Marlies to not be on the road, which they also are.

Didn't the Marlies just get back from a month long road trip? Doesn't really matter now anyway as the Leafs are already in Nashville.

Still have another game left on it before it's over.

Although with 5 days off between the last game of the road trip and the 2nd last game, the Marlies were actually back in Toronto.

As you can see..

43_Kadri Nazem Kadri
Great win. Time to head back to the dot O...26 days later, finally #homesweethome

Sounds like he's going to be good to go for the Marlies next game on Friday.

During Grabo's absence, I would like to see the following lines:

Lupul Connolly Kessel
MacArthur/Lombardi (if Mac injured) Bozak Kulemin
Kadri/Colborne/Frattin (kid line...see who plays best...and who has chemistry?)
Lombardi (or anyone but Dupuis) / Steckel / Brown

A big problem, however, I see with this current edition of the team is the lack of what Burkie said he wanted in the beginning - truculence. This is especially true with Armstrong out of the line-up.

A big reason for the last pretty successful Leafs squad was they had punishing guys like Roberts, Tucker, Corson, Domi, etc. that would pound away at the opposition. I'm convinced that was the difference between the Leafs and the Sens during all those playoff match-ups as the Sens were very skilled but couldn't match the Leafs in the trenches, that along with our goaltending advantage.

I think the problem is Burkie can't simply find enough truculence in the trade market, people don't want to give that up without a big return. He scored Phaneuf on the back-end, and to some degree Komi now playing better. But upfront their is little to intimidate the opposition. The Bruins have guys like Lucic in particular and others upfront who will throw their weight around.

I think Burkie is trying to address this somewhat through the draft, by getting guys like Tyler Biggs and Brad Ross, but they are quite a ways away. This teams needs some more toughness up front, but talented toughness. No easy solutions in sight.

I'd rather try to spread my offense a little more and put Connolly with Frattin and Kulemin.  Kessel and Lupul can score with pretty much any center....even Bozak.

I hope that Colborne will get to play with some sort of offensive talent...

Joe colborne gets the callup for tonight's game against washington.

With so many injuries in the top 9 (Grabbo, MacArthur and Armstrong) I really think they should have called up both Kadri and Colborne.  Throwing an injured Mike Brown into the top 9 or playing Rosehill with a regular shift isn't going to solve the Leafs lack of scoring.

Agreed. Right now it's looking like Connolly will stay with Kulemin and Frattin, leaving Colborne to play with 4th liners (unless he and Crabb can re-create some magic). If we were only calling up one guy for the 3rd line I would have preferred it to be Boyce or Zigomanis, at least that's a role they can play.

Colborne to play with crabb and steckel tonite. Brown is doubtful so colton orr will return to the lineup.

So no offense from the bottom-6 again.
