Kessel Run said:Interesting Dreger says Vancouver wanted Scrivens and multiple, multiple draft picks at 2:30 for Luongo.

Canucks called at 2pm...made a trade offer, Tor declined. Van called at 2:30 with 2nd offer, Tor declined...3rd offer at 2:45pm...decline.

That is funny if its accurate. Gillis getting more and more desperate as the clock ticked on.
cw said:If Gillis wants to move Luongo in the summer - which he HAS to do to clear cap space next season, now that he's been devalued as a .904 save% backup to Schneider, he'll have to eat some of that contract to get him moved.Zee said:Potvin29 said:Kessel Run said:Interesting Dreger says Vancouver wanted Scrivens and multiple, multiple draft picks at 2:30 for Luongo.

If the chain of Gillis offers to Toronto near the deadline today report is true, and it wouldn't surprise me at all, it reveals his desperation. Gillis is screwed for next season's cap with Luongo and every other GM in the league knows it.

Nik said:TSN is saying that the Leafs offer was basically that they'd take his contract for nothing.
So, basically, Nonis was willing to overpay at the deadline for goaltending.
cw said:Scrivens plus a 2nd & 3rd is not "giving" Luongo to the Leafs
cw said:So Luongo does have the power to "scrap" his contract. All he has to do is refuse to render his services. If he does, the Canucks can put him on waivers and if no one takes on the Luongo contract - which is unlikely in my opinion, he's out of his contract as are the Canucks.
