Marlies Talk

Yeah Boyce has mentioned the Marlies in a few tweets recently.

On an untelated note, today's game is sold out, which is also awesome to see.

Cool. Almost certainly wouldn't be if the Leafs were in the playoffs right now, but good to see regardless.

Varrone tallies for Rochester to make it 2-2 at the end of a bad penalty from Holzer.

Marlies really should have been up 3/4 zip at the start of the second and are paying the price for not capitalizing.

I wonder if Mueller is carrying an injury because that's the first two games he has missed.

It would be extremely strange for them to healthy scratch a guy who is close to the NHL by all accounts.

Jerry "Mr Playoffs" D'Amigo makes it 4-3.

Frattin with the helper.  Interesting note that they have Frattin, Colborne and D'Amigo on a line now and D'amigo is taking the draws, not Colborne. Maybe Joe has a hand injury.

Biega tried to kill Gregg Scott by running him full clip into the end boards on an icing race.

Good win, Scrivens could have had at least one of those goals today.

didn't get to see the game today ...well not much of it ..seems from the score they had trouble putting it away?  still they got it done.  and 2 wins in a best of 5 is pretty solid

Everything I've read says healthy scratch.

I hope that's not the case.  He put up 47 points was the top forward in +/- at +18 and was on a 7 points in 5 games streak heading into the postseason.  That would seem like a pretty big, you aren't in our future plans, kind of statement to bench him after everything seemed to suggest that he was one of the teams better forwards and that he was pretty darn close to being NHL ready.

Eakins on Mueller:

?He was a scratch and believe me that was a tough one,? said Eakins. ?It was a hard decision and we?ll make sure we pick him up emotionally. He was upset that he couldn?t play but he was also happy that we won.?

Getting Frattin, Ashton, and Rosehill all back to the Marlies really pushed him down the depth chart.

That smells a little off to me.  Frattin and Ashton I'll give you...but there are at least four maybe five forwards that Mueller should be ahead of automatically, he was third on the team in points for frack sake..
