I wonder how many other posters (who are riding their high horses) in this thread, can say they live in the city proper and are taxpayers to the city proper?

*raises hand*

I pay > $2k in property taxes to the City for the privilege of living in the air. I don't even have a piece of land that I can call my "own".

I live in Brampton, and our late 60's 1800 sq/ft sidesplit costs us almost $4000 a year in taxes at a value of about $350k I know people in the Moore Park area that pay just shy of $3k. Their place is the same size as ours, a wartime, that was assessed at over $500k.... Toronto doesnt seem that bad to me now.

ps... I love TO

I'm starting to really dislike Brampton.  Our taxes are $4600 a yr for a 2200 sq ft 2 story with a patch of land in the back.  But, we are on a street that connects to a major street and we get our street plowed right away during the winter, so, I guess that's the price that we pay. ::)

Our insurance went up AGAIN.  Looked around for quotes and were told that Brampton is one of the highest for insurance rates because of all the accidents and I have to agree.  Toronto is actually much cheaper for insurance than Brampton.  I see at least 2 to 3 accidents everyday to and from work and I only work 20 mins away from home.  There are just some people in Brampton that DO NOT know how to drive.

It's soon time to move.

Nice tryout...  ;D

That's proportionately consistent with what I pay in Thunder Bay for my 760 sq.ft. home.
