Little disappointing, but, at least it's something.
Wow....what a crappy day to be a Leaf fan. You look at what they did last year at the deadline and you look at what they did this year at the deadline and it is appalling. Just no hope what so ever.
Yeah, that's very underwhelming. I think a big thing here is McMann's biggest positive, his low cap hit, wasn't as much of a factor with so many teams swimming in cap space.
Oh, and it's a 2nd in 2027, but don't worry they got a 4th for this year.

Why? What is this organization going to do? Draft players, ruin them, and then charge you $500 a seat in the nosebleeds so that you can boo them and throw waffles? What's the point?

Well, if that's the way you're going to look at things, it doesn't matter what year the picks are in. I think you need to take another break, dude.

Yeah Edmonton was basically the one team that they could have maybe got to overpay for McMann since they're right at the ceiling. Seattle in comparison had $22mil in deadline cap space per PuckPedia.
Then who cares if the pick is this year or next if they are just going to amount to nothing anyways?
Well...if the other options were (1) signing him for something like 5x5, or (2) letting him walk for nothing, I guess this is preferable.
He's been a nice story but really - too streaky, disappears for long periods, no playoff impact, big but no mean streak, recent play has been weak. Kind of sounds like a lot of the Leafs TBH.

I'm not sure how upset we can be by this trade. He's a guy, that's been given consistent opportunities to play top 6 minutes and has yet to amount to anything other than a passenger. He has 32 points in 60 games playing with Nylander, Matthews, Tavares, etc....He's a nice story in that he was undrafted, but he's a mediocre hockey player. He's a 3rd/4th liner. He's definitely not worth a raise IMO.
