Durzi gets 6m a year?  Wow

40 point puck moving RHD...yeah, they get paid.
He seemed like such a good prospect and now he is a star elsewhere. I know we needed someone like Muzface but it starting to hurt watching guys like Verhague, Dakota Johnson, Marchand and others really contributing elsewhere.

ExLeafs unsigned:

James van Riemsdyk
Tyson Barrie
Travis Dermott
Mark Giordano
John Klingberg
Martin Jones

Former Leafs still unsigned:

James van Riemsdyk
John Klingberg - still recovering (apparently in Toronto) from hip surgery
Tyson Barrie
Travis Dermott - had serious concussion issues in '22-23, missed 27 games in '23-24 - not sure why
Victor Mete
Byron Froese
Mark Giordano - I suspect he'll land a spot as a depth dmen
Alexander Barabanov - not good when San Jose doesn't renew
Matt Martin
Radim Zohorna

Barabanov had a 56-point pace season in 22/23 (47 points in 68 games) and is now out of the league.

Pretty respectable numbers for a guy like him imo. Maybe he just wanted to go home.

Yeah he's coming off a $2.5mi salary and while that's not particularly high he probably would have needed to take a pay cut to find a job somewhere here. Can't blame him for preferring the KHL option at that point.

Funny to think what might have happened had he been traded to the Rangers at the deadline. There was a trade in place but the Sharks ended up using their last retention spot on Hertl and NYR couldn't fit him in without retention so the trade ended up falling apart. A few good playoff games and he's probably still here somewhere.

I hope he looks great and then just signs here instead.

Crazy to think he's only 38 years old. Loved Kuly as a Leaf.

He was absolutely one of my favourite players for that dark era of Leafs hockey.

Kind of hard to imagine him making an NHL team at 38 after spending 5 years in the KHL but it would be a fun thing to watch.

27 points in 45 games; 28 points in 68 games; 25 points in 65 games in his last three years in Russia.
