Gave up a ton for him too. Then the Yanks went out and acquired Clippard...I guess they just couldn't refuse that package (4 prospects including Frazier) for Miller.
 
Baltimore has acquired LH starter Wade Miley from Seattle in exchange for minor league pitcher Ariel Miranda.

O's badly needed a decent starter, and really needed a LH one in their rotation. Should be interesting to see how this deal affects the division race.
 
Lucroy to the Indians was vetoed as apparently they were on his no-trade list.

Also, it's not going to have any impact on any postseason stuff but the Padres trading Matt Kemp to Atlanta is weird. Why would the Braves want to take on that much salary?

I think the Kemp trade was partially trading one bad contract for another and partially ridding themselves of a bad apple. I don't think Hector Olivera would have been welcomed back after his suspension for beating a woman. Braves would rather have Kemp than a woman abuser on their team and that is completely understandable. For what its worth I believe the Padres intend to just cut Olivera once his suspension ends next week and eat the $30 million remaining on his contract. Kudos to San Diego!

Reds trade OF Jay Bruce to Mets for INF Dilson Herrera and minor league pitcher Max Wotell.

A's trade OF Josh Reddick and LH starter Rich Hill to Dodgers for pitching prospects Jharel Cotton, Frankie Montas and Grant Holmes.

Part of Marlins-Padres trade from a couple days ago being re-worked due to Colin Rea injury. Apparently Luis Castillo will be returned to the Marlins and Rea will be sent back to San Diego.

Brewers trade LH reliever Will Smith to Giants for C Andrew Susac and minor league starter Phil Bickford.
Bickford was a Jays 1st rounder a few years back they couldn't get to sign with them.

Rays trade OF Brandon Guyer to Indians for minor leaguers OF Nathan Lukes and RHP Jhonleider Salinas.

Yankees trade OF/DH Carlos Beltran to Rangers for minor league pitchers Dillon Tate (4th overall pick in 2015 Draft), Nick Green and Erik Swanson.

Angels trade SP Hector Santiago to Twins for SP Ricky Nolasco, P Alex Meyer and minor league pitcher Alan Busenitz.

Angels trade RP Joe Smith to Cubs for minor league pitcher Jesus Castillo.

Brewers trade C Jonathan Lucroy and RP Jeremy Jeffress to Rangers for minor leaguers OF Lewis Brinson and P Luis Ortiz.

Rays trade utilityman Steve Pearce to Orioles for minor league C Jonah Heim.

Some interesting moves. I like the Feldman pickup. I'm lukewarm on the other moves.
 
Jays also picked up AA OF Harold Ramirez in the Hutchison deal. He is a good prospect, was definitely among the top 10 players in the Pirates system.

I'm hopeful with Martin catching Liriano again that his numbers will improve. Also knows Grilli and Happ from his Pirate days so a few familiar faces.
 
Another nice thing about Liriano is that he's only got one affordable year left and he won't have 10/5 rights. So he could be flipped next year if he rebounds.
 
Technically, we're in a wild card race with Houston. Does anyone else find it strange they'd deal with us? And is the Astro bullpen so set they can give up a serviceable reliever?
 
So, Liriano comes with two of the Pirates' top prospects, and all the Jays give up is Hutchison. Works for me.

McGuire and Ramirez, the prospects in question, were #76 and #80 on Baseball Prospectus' list of the top 100 prospects in baseball. So there's some real value there.
 
August waiver trades have begun:

Braves traded LH reliever Hunter Cervenka to Marlins for minor leaguers OF Anfernee Seymour and LHP Michael Mader.

Pirates traded RH reliever Arquimedes Caminero to Mariners for PTBNL.

Blue Jays traded switch pitcher Pat Venditte to Mariners for PTBNL.

 
It's likely someone from this year's draft. If I remember correctly, players can't be traded within the 1st year of them being signed.
