Leafs GM Nonis on The Fan 590, made a reference to some interest in forward Tim Connolly (currently with the Marlies), from various teams...

And those teams didn't pick him up when he was on waivers because.....?
Could be a result of injuries hitting a team.
Or the hope that Toronto will eat some of his salary.
and at the deadline there isn't much salary left to pay anyway.
or they've see him getting his game back at the AHL level. The suggestion by Nonis was he was hurt by the lockout and basically wasn't at the level he needed to be to play on this team. he could be there now.
Depth centres at the deadline are often a hot commodity. one reason why I almost hope the Leafs hang on to him for a little bit here. If they do happen to make the playoffs, Connolly has a fair bit of post season experience.
