Official Ottawa Senators Thread

@FriedgeHNIC: MacLean says the explanation given for the winning goal to Jason Spezza was "it was too loud."

Lol.

The infallible referees strike again.  Don't dare question them though or you might bring doubt into their mind.

I am not a Sens fan at all, but I feel sorry for them. It was very well known that the officiating in Montreal has always been pro Canadians. But it has evolved into something which the League should really look into. Especially this year there is so much evidence, that it is blows my mind.

bruce_arthur: Spezza was asked for the ref explanation of the winner; he said "None, they said it was too loud." Meaning, too loud to explain, I think.

That would be a way too logical interpretation of it.

course, they played the entire game down 20000+ men. When you're IN Montreal, you're always shorthanded, because in addition to the four officials on the ice, the games are called by the audience. Never fails. It's awful. (although part of me is glad to see it isn't just the Leafs getting #&%$@ over by the refs in Montreal)

Yeah, wow, Vanek could have easily been called for goalie interference on the tying goal. And that winning goal, I didn't see the replay from the proper angle to see if the puck was covered.

The other thing I noticed about the replays is that Lehner needs to do a better job of rebound control and covering the puck - the 3rd habs goal in particular, but he seemed to have problems with that on all the last goals (edit: except the OT goal - as I said, I didn't see a replay angle where it shows the puck uncovered).

Wow. That was the Leafs game seven collapse vs the Bruins all over again.. worse even. Except it wasn't a game 7 playoff game. :o

You guys are still the undisputed kings of the planet in blowing it. Not even close. Undisputed champs of getting owned by the hockey Gods too - keep chirping.

Seriously? That crown is firmly intact on the head of that embarassing Spartan mascot or whatever that joke of a person was. Sens have been embarassed (by an inferior and an injury-riddled Leaf team, no less) in the playoffs 3 years in a row. Ottawa's playoff choking is epic. Sorry, "it's not even close."

Fingers are crossed that Ottawa wins the draft lottery.

You realize we are only 6 pts back of you with 2 games in hand?

Yeah, I'm crossing my fingers that we'll win the lottery.

The media must be scrambling together a draft preview show as we speak. That media sure plays its part in pissing off the hockey Gods for the Leafs.
